# Copilot timeline and results

Use the Copilot timeline to review evidence, confirmations, work requests, and results.

## Timeline entries

The timeline keeps the conversation and its operational evidence in order. Each entry identifies the prompt, cited data, confirmation, work request, or final result.

| Entry | Use |
| ------------ | ------------------------------------------------------ |
| Prompt | Records the question and selected context |
| Evidence | Lists configuration, metrics, and events used |
| Plan | Shows the proposed target and change |
| Work request | Links the confirmed operation to its asynchronous task |
| Result | Records success, failure, or required follow-up |

## Review a result

1. Open the Copilot session timeline.
2. Check that the entry references the intended instance and time range.
3. Open cited metrics, events, or work request details.
4. Compare the final state with the expected result.
5. Add a follow-up prompt when the result needs more investigation.

## Retention and handoff

Keep the original prompt and evidence when handing an incident to another operator. Record instance ID, work request ID, and the observed time range in the handoff summary.
